Code Compliance

To ensure the safety of our clients and our team, we observe the local and national electrical codes of the National Electrical Code (NEC). The U.S. National Fire Protection Association (NFPA 70) annual code offers best practices for electricians.

We train all Mister Sparky electricians to follow the NEC codes to adhere to the strictest standards for your project.

Why Choose Mister Sparky Electric?

What is in the NEC?

As we stated earlier, the NEC is a series of local and national electrical codes. They promote safe installation and repair of electrical wiring and equipment.

To be clear, the NEC is not a US law. However, many state and municipal governments refer to the NFPA 70 annual guide for policy and enforcement.

Currently, 47 out of 50 states use the NEC codes to promote electrical safety. The remaining three states have many municipalities that use the NEC codes.

Because the codes are different in each state and municipality, it often takes years to learn the rules. That is why Mister Sparky offers our electricians extensive training to help them stay on top of best practices. The training is also part of the process for us to license them within our company.

Here are a few electrical code rules for specific rooms around your home.
